CrownBet Sports Review

About CrownBet

CrownBet has a slightly complicated history, so bear with us as we explain this one. The site can trace its history to 2003, when it was launched as AK Racing, under the domain In 2005, AK Racing – the name a reference to the bookmaker behind it, A. Kay – introduced the Betezy brand, which became BetEasy in 2014.

In March 2015, the site took on the CrownBet name, as it was by now majority-owned by Crown Resorts. However, its majority ownership then changed again in early 2018, to The Stars Group.

Horse Racing on CrownBet

Despite what may seem to be an unstable history, CrownBet impresses with several intriguing features that simply aren’t available on a lot of other sports betting portals. It is the sole corporate bookmaker, for example, to give its members access to the Sky Racing channels, through which live thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing can be streamed.

It is these three popular forms of racing that very much power the CrownBet betting experience. If we focus first on local thoroughbred racing, we’re pleased to report that there’s a wide range of races on which you can have a flutter, including at such venues as Goulburn, Scone, Pakenham, Warren and Rockhampton. It’s an even better story as far as horse racing further afield is concerned, with events at international racecourses like San Isidro, Delaware Park, Chantilly, Woodbine and Sacramento all represented.

You can peruse the latest betting opportunities for races set to take place today, tomorrow or later in the week, while the types of bet that you can take advantage of on most races include win/place, quinella, exacta, trifecta and first four markets. Doubles, trebles and quaddies are also frequently on offer.

Bottom Line

CrownBet ticks plenty of the obvious boxes that it needs to tick to be considered a great all-round place to bet on horse racing, and it adds a few less expected perks into the mix as well. In short, it’s an excellent place to try your luck on thoroughbred and harness racing events across Australia, New Zealand and further afield, not least because quirkier features like the Sky Racing channels will help to keep you interested for longer.

Sign up with CrownBet today, and we suspect you’ll be enjoying its horse racing and related offerings for not just months, but years to come.
